The West Cork Bulbs Crocus tommasinianus ‘Ruby Giant’ is a delightful and early-blooming species of crocus. The flowers are a rich violet-purple on the edges, gradually fading to pure white in the center. They are larger than many other species crocuses, making a striking display. These crocuses are excellent for naturalizing in lawns, rock gardens, and borders.
They typically bloom in late winter to early spring, often one of the first flowers to appear.
These crocuses grow to about 10-15 cm (approximately 4-6 inches) tall.
‘Ruby Giant’ crocuses thrive in full sun but can also tolerate partial shade.
They prefer well-drained soil and should be planted about 5-8 cm (2-3 inches) deep and spaced 5-8 cm (2-3 inches) apart.
They are also deer and squirrel resistant, making them a great choice for gardens where these animals are a concern
